Big tech is looking for a specific type of resume - Ivy league education and a slew of other big tech. It's a bias - sort of like why an ivy league graduate program is more likely to accept you if your undergraduate degree is also ivy league. If your resume is peppered with only smaller companies, big tech will generally skip you.
